Pete's
Thoughts
Chad
Kinsey and I had been playing around with various incarnations of a live
improvisational ensemble. That style developed into this cd. We felt it
would be much more manageable to do it as a duo than an ensemble, and that
turned out to be right. From the 1st soaring guitar cords on at the 1st
session to mixing the trax, this was pure meditation in doing. Chad and
I played to a piece of art (which became the cover) to make sure the vibe
remained consistent in tone and movement. That was a fun approach and helped
break with convention. Chad played mostly unrecognizable guitar sounds
while I played mostly Middle Eastern and Asian hand drums – no big
African sounds here. This cd was a stretch and prepared me for becoming
an intentional antenna.

Grace
and Equilibrium - Horizon Project 2002
Horizon
Project paints wheat field landscapes with lush ambient pastoral guitar
over pulsing rusty purple percussion. Pete Barnhart and Chad Kinsey
gracefully tiptoe across the ever revealing horizon line.
